VJ Elastic Eye AKA Pete Thornton
I decided to set out creating live visuals to
go with music after being inspired by the work of Coldcut and
Hexstatic in the late 90’s. After acquiring some VJ software
from Japan, I began to create and remix video clips.
I began promoting my own underground music night,
HABIT in 2006 with friend Leapnik DJ (Boney). This gave me a great
platform to put into practice some of my ideas. It was a great
success and led to the creation of a new dubstep night Knee Deep
in 2007 and attention from other promoters who asked me to do
live sets at their nights.
Since 2006, I have collaborated many times with
Kent based VJ Morebuck$, who run’s the popular Rebel Beat
Faction nights in Maidstone.
The live sets are customized depending on the
type of event and music. - everything from politics, bombs/explosions,
horror films to dancing silhouettes, cartoons and fractals.
Over the past 2 years, I have worked with Plump
DJ's, Herd & Fitz, General Midi, JDS, Precision Cuts, Lee
Burridge, Luke Dzierzek, Kate Lawler, Dave Spoon, Danny McMillan,
Alex P, Slipmatt and Ratpack and have appeared on MTV Dance who
filmed the gig i played for Pukka Up at Pacha, London in 2006.
I have put together sets for all genres of music
including rock, breakbeat, dubstep, drum n bass, house, electro
and trance and have worked at many venues across the UK, London,
and the South-East, including festivals and clubs such as Pacha,
SE1 and Ministry of Sound.
